Hello, We shutdown our Linux instances once a week to get clean volume backups. They are started back up via a REXX exec which simply issues: 'XAUTOLOG LINUX001' sleep 30 sec 'XAUTOLOG LINUX002' sleep 30 sec 'XAUTOLOG LINUX003' At least 1 of the 3 Linuxes will hang during startup, usually the DB2/UDB instance. To resolve the problem, I log on to a 3270 as the "hung" user, log off, then log on again. The IPL proceeds normally when performed via a connected terminal. The following are the last messages in the spooled console log during the "hang". It seems to hang during normal DASD setup. There are many more volumes left to verify at this point: dasd(eckd):0207 on sch 17: 3390/0A(CU:3990/01) Cyl:3338 Head:15 Sec:224

Has anyone experienced this? (System versions are zVM 4.2, SuSE 7-2.4.7 Kernel) Thanks in advance, Hank Calzaretta RR Donnelley ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For LINUX-390 subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the message: INFO LINUX-390 or visit http://www.marist.edu/htbin/wlvindex?LINUX-390
