I'ld say even the DVD is on it's way out too as far as purchase media goes. The bean counteres have determined they don't have to pay sales tax if it's transmitted, rather than on physical media.
All of our installs are network based anyway. Well, if you buy the SUSE LINUX Professional 9.2 (or 9.1) Box you'll get two DVDs (one with the installation data and the other one with source code) and _additionally_ the CD set. I'd say data CDs as installation media will quickly go the way of the floppy disks. Even though this means that I'll have to upgrade my co-located machine with a DVD drive eventually... Anyway, we are talking about the consumer product here, business products such as SLES still come as a set of CDs. -- Joerg Reuter http://yaina.de/jreuter And I make my way to where the warm scent of soil fills the evening air.
