FYI - 3270 console support is available in TaoLinux/390. All I had to do was mknod ttyxxxx c 227 1 in the /dev directory and add conmode=3270 to the zipl parm in /etc/yourzipl.conf and issue zipl -c /etc/yourzipl.conf. The /dev/console device already had a major of 5 and minor of 1.
