Re. downloading the CD's, pull them (1,2 and 3rd .iso) down to a directory on Linux or Windoze. Mount them loopback and you can see and **use** everything you need for a basic installation. I have not had a data problem with the downloaded .iso's.

I had/continuely have a weird problem with downloading CDs. (This is with Win/2000 and Win/XP). Sometimes an image is downloaded incorrectly. CD Recorder says it is a bad image. So, I delete it and download it again (takes the same amount of time for the download). CD Recorder again doesn't like it. There is nothing I seem to be able to do considering that image. But, if I go to another machine, it will download correctly. Seems once it is messed up, always messed up on that box. In this case of CD2, I kept downloading 508 MBs (bad image). When I got a good image it was 516MBs. Just wondering if anyone has found a way around Windows, beside going to another box. Tom Duerbusch THD Consulting >>> [EMAIL PROTECTED] 12/06/04 01:29PM >>> I did mine using 256, and had no problem. I did get several bad CD images from Novell though. We went around on that in a previous thread. -----Original Message----- From: Linux on 390 Port [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Behalf Of Ferguson, Neale Sent: Monday, December 06, 2004 2:22 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Re: [LINUX-390] SLES9 Install hang For the install and when using NFS I had my vstor at 512M or 768M (I can't recall). You only need it for the install, you can set your machine back down to what you prefer after. Neale -----Original Message----- I don't think that was my problem. I upped the virtual size from 256MB to 300MBs and I'm currently installing software from CD2. If this turns out to be the solution, then I guess in my particular setup, 256MBs just don't cut it. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For LINUX-390 subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the message: INFO LINUX-390 or visit http://www.marist.edu/htbin/wlvindex?LINUX-390 -------------------------------------------------------- If you are not an intended recipient of this e-mail, please notify the sender, delete it and do not read, act upon, print, disclose, copy, retain or redistribute it.
