My thanks to everyone who sent me their comments on using Vswitch. I
finally managed to get it to work, with some help from IBM. We were
lacking
some of the updates to chandev.conf and modules.conf that are necessary.
My vswitch connection is now working, though Yast still refuses to
recognize it.
I guess that is one of my complaints. As a Linux-newbie, I assumed that
Yast was more thorough than it appears to be.
I also found it to be an invalid assumption. Particularly LVM and this on
SuSE 9.
It certainly doesn't handle
these VM network connections as well as I think it ought. Maybe things
are better with SLES 9, I haven't tried that yet.
