In case anyone out there is running Samba 2.2.x on any of their systems, they should know that 2.2.12, which was released back in September, is the last version of 2.2 that will be released. That means that the bug just recently discovered will not be fixed in the 2.2 series by the Samba developers.
Your Linux distribution provider may or may not backport the fix, depending on what version of Linux you're running.
