I've seen that error with Suse when the ftp root isn't where the distribution files are.
For each of my distros I have a user that is chrooted to the appropriate installation directory. I've included the contents of ../../tmp/dkk. NFS attempt fails on an ugly can't find MOUNT type of message. The remote NFS server works - successfully used from other linux nfs clients.
