I don't have any specific recommendations, but I have to believe it can be
done, based on my experience with GIMP. GIMP will use the Ghostscript that
is installed on your system to read in a PDF, and present each page as a
separate image. If GIMP can use Ghostscript to do that, I would have to
believe other tools could be made to do the same thing, and just stop at the
first page.

Subject: OT - PDF Archieve - Presentation

Hi Folks

I have a huge amount of documents in PDF format (zSeries Linux related) that
I need to make available for reference, I am hoping to find a solution
(Linux would be nice) that would scan/present the first page of each of the
PDF's, The only other option I have available at the moment is to open each
PDF copy the heading into a http document and create a link , labour
intensive to say the least.

Any ideas welcome

Regards
Gerard
