Yes Q V NIC looks good.  Q LAN DETAILS shows a single line for the
virtual machine, but no other information since the interface isn't open.

I've since noticed that the hotplug process isn't started.  Not only
that, but it's not in /etc/rc.d.  My guess is that someone's been
messing with the startup process.
