I always try to use minimal install for SLES9 which includes enough
packages to run X clients. However, RHEL4 minimal is just a bit too
minimal. Let's face it eventually you will need to run an X app so it's
convenient to have the rat's nest of X packages available. So when
installing RHEL4, I check the "X" group (first group at top of list) and
uncheck all other packages groups. This yields a root file system of about
1GB.
