I'm considering setting time to GMT for z/VM to eliminate the need for
bi-yearly IPL's. We don't use z/VM for anything other than virtualizing
Linux, and we have mission critical apps that don't always allow downtime
for something as silly as clock changes that made farmers happy 100 years
ago. It was nearly a month after the change to CDT that we IPL'd z/VM, and
that was because the box needed a POR.

So, because we don't have any users who would be confused by the discrepancy
between their watch and z/VM, are there any downsides to setting the clock
to GMT?
