Brian:
I don't do it a lap top but I boot from an NFS/Unix server (AIX or SUN).
What we do, is create a directory, copy all of the CD's to the same
directory (this is important).
Then we copy in the same location all of the SP1 CD's.
Then, we run "mksles9root.sh". This will take all of the data and create a
new subdirectory called sles9root.
(if you need a copy of mksles9root.sh let me know off-line and I will
forward you a copy).
Make sure to have 6 GB of space for the sles9root subdirectory.
Then we export sles9root as an NFS mount point. Here is where the
mainframe will come to get its sutff.
Then we proceed to IPL zLinux using Load from CD. We tell it that we want
the NFS type of IPL. We provide the IP address
and mount point of the NFS exported file system.
I have done it at least 5 times in the last 3 weeks.

Linux on 390 Port
Uriel,
It's under z/VM 5.1. I figuring something changed on my lap top when I
upgraded Redhat versions. It has to be that cause SLES 9 installed before.
I use FTP to my lap top, but after CD1 is done, it will not eject. THANX,
I'm gonna try and look closer at my config with Redhat.
