I know we have FICON's on a z890 running SLES-9 from LPAR's (no zVM). We
use zOS/DFDSS to back up those volumes.
We also got FIBER connections but we have not activated them yet.

Today we have a LPAR with Native Linux (SUSE 7.2 , kernel 2.4.7), using
Escon channels, now we are planning to
move to a new storage with FICON adapters, Do you know if this version can
handle with FICON channels (Z890 CPU) ?
