I have been a big un-fan of reiserfs since it ate a bunch of my mail
spool under heavy load (on LVM disk across ten minidisks). I try

shutdown on guests with ext3 all the time and have never had
corruption issues.

I've lost data to reiserfs 5 times over the years on Intel. I have
avoided that filesystem like the plague ever since. ext2, ext3, and xfs
are the only ones I trust fully for Linux.
