What sort of problem(s) did you run into? If you make sure you copy from cylinder 0 "out" you should be OK. Just make sure the Linux system is completely down when you do the dump to tape.

I have SUSE 9 running in an LPAR for testing purposes. We are swapping out our Hitachi 3390-9 DASD for IBM ESS 3390-9 and need to move all of the DASD volumes. I tried using DFDSS/DFHSM with no success. Is there a way to use LINUX commands to move the IPL'able volume to a different device. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For LINUX-390 subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the message: INFO LINUX-390 or visit http://www.marist.edu/htbin/wlvindex?LINUX-390
