Confusing statements here.  You can actually run SSH (any SSH client
including PUTTY) and tunnel your VNCSERVER to a VNCVIEWER (client) to
get to your Linux for z-Series.  No Java spoken so far.
Also, keep in mind that Java is intense in its use of resource on Linux.
