Subject: fbset on zLinux

Guys,
   what is exactly the fbset??
By default SLES8 install it on automatic start during boot at
RunLevel 5. Is this necessary for zLinux?

That's weird. "fb" is "frame buffer" and I cannot imagine how z/Linux
could possibly use it. The simple way to determine what some of these
things are is to look in /etc/init.d and find the "control" shell
script. Most of them are decently documented by comments in the script.

or
rpm -qif ....
(except on Debian and such).
