An FYI, I was passed this link to the TSM website documenting the STK library suport:

I stand corrected. So many things to keep up with these days... We have tested shared ACSLS library support for lanfree backups on zLinux in the past with success by using a library manager server on AIX. We are using HSC on z/OS with Library Station but an ACSLS server should make no difference. With TSM 5.3.2 the shared ACSLS library support should be available on zLinux too, so it should be possible to use a zLinux only solution. In the next days/weeks we will test this function on a SLES9 s390x system with 9840C FC drives built into a 9310 Powderhorn library. Steps needed (may be incomplete): Configure the FC drives to zLinux. Configure the TSM device drivers (/opt/tivoli/tsm/devices/bin/mt.conf,lb.conf). Configure TSM ACSLS support (/opt/tivoli/tsm/devices/bin/rc.acs_ssi, set ACSLS_SERVER_HOSTNAME). Define library to TSM. Define drives to TSM. Define PATH's to TSM. Define device class and storage pool to TSM. Define volumes to TSM. I'm trying to configure our STK 9310 powderhorn robotics to work with TSM running under Suse LE 9. If you've down this, I'd love to see some outline of where to start. STK support hasn't been too helpful with this venture.
