I needed a little faster solution. I would like to upgrade to a newer release
of Linux, but that will take a while longer.

I have modified chandev.conf using sed and can not access our current LPAR.

Thanks for the suggestion,
    Craig

Would you try to install a new linux system in a new LPAR, and attach the disk
of the old Linux to the LPAR of the new Linux and make the modification?

Subject: Help changing modules.conf

Hi all,

I had mentioned a while ago that we were going to a z890 and I was
running SuSE Linux SLES S/390 Version 7.2.0-0 (Kernel 2.4.7) running in
an LPAR (no z/VM). Well, the z890 was installed over last weekend.
However, the person doing the IODF changed the OSA address from c20 to
c70. Now I can't access the Linux LPAR except thru the HMC. The
Integrated ASCII Console does nothing but give me a black screen and
YaST just looks like garbage on the HMC.

I know the c20 address is in /etc/modules.conf. Is there some way to
make this change?

Thanks,
    Craig
