Can some give me the directions on the proper steps to change the system name and the IP address of my test Linux system that is going to replace a current system I am shutting down. I need to use the same system name and IP address because of the TSM application that I have.
Current RH and SUSE distros seem to change their host name to conform to the IP address. If you configure dynamic IP and set the address in your DHCP server it's all transparent. Note: some daemons may need specific attention, especially where you have more than one external network interface. -- Cheers John -- spambait [EMAIL PROTECTED] [EMAIL PROTECTED] Tourist pics http://portgeographe.environmentaldisasters.cds.merseine.nu/ do not reply off-list ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For LINUX-390 subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the message: INFO LINUX-390 or visit http://www.marist.edu/htbin/wlvindex?LINUX-390
