they built apache, and thereby generated mod_ldap, etc.
Or even better, if you must use 2.2, get a source rpm from RHEL5 beta,
SLES10 (if you can, is it 2.2?) or Fedora or OpenSUSE, and build that.
Probably, it will fit in better when you advance to the next release of
your distro.
btw If you're using RHEL, then maybe CentOS has an rpm for you.
