IIRC z/OS.e runs in a 'normal' engine not an IFL. It does have its own pricing which is less than z/OS but there are some restrictions. DB2 and other products should be less expensive too. Not sure if the engine cost is any different though.
-----Original Message----- Steve Gentry Please note, I wrote z/OS.e note the "e" This is a version of z/OS that will run in an IFL and thus take advantage of lower pricing (according to IBM). I'm neither for or against this option. It was something that IBM presented to us as an alternative along with zLinux under VM in an IFL. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For LINUX-390 subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the message: INFO LINUX-390 or visit http://www.marist.edu/htbin/wlvindex?LINUX-390
