The udev configuration on SLES9 and SLES10 gives you /dev/disk/by-path/ccw-0.0.0190 and, if you're careful to avoid duplicate volsers (as seen by the Linux guest) then you can use /dev/disk/by-id/VOLSER on SLES9 or /dev/disk/by-id/ccw-VOLSER on SLES10.
