A major twist: Google for this: "trevor tao" nigel prize chess Trevor is from a majorly geekish family, if you allow maths and (maybe) chess. As a "developing" junior, Trevor was admitted to the Australian Championship (early 90s) for which his rating didn't give him right of entry. He came equal second, with a grandmasterly performance. He and two brothers won maths prizes as teenagers. One brother recently (2006 I think) won Maths' equivalent to the Nobel Prize. Trevor has also been described as a "gifted musician."
