This tells me that your NIC is not coupled to the VSWITCH.  There are a few 
reasons why that might happen.

You've got your NIC defined as layer 2 to Linux.  Is your VSWITCH defined as 
being layer 2?

For something that isn't talking to its gateway, there seems to be an awful lot 
of network traffic traversing this interface.  That seems more than a little 
odd.

The other possibility that leaps to mind is that you haven't granted access to 
the VSWITCH for the Linux guest.  If you issue a "dmesg" command, there might 
be more information there.
