This tells me that your NIC is not coupled to the VSWITCH. There are a few reasons why that might happen. -snip- > ifconfig eth0 > DMSACC724I 191 replaces A (191) > Ready; T=0.01/0.01 11:18:52 > ETH0 inet addr: 10.12.26.108 mask: 255.255.255.0 > UP BROADCAST MULTICAST MTU: 1500 > vdev: FF00 rdev: FF00 type: QDIO ETHERNET portname: ZVMPORT You've got your NIC defined as layer 2 to Linux. Is your VSWITCH defined as being layer 2? > ipv4 router type: NONROUTER ipv6: DISABLED > cpu: 0 forwarding: ENABLED > RX bytes: 7835294 TX bytes: 104111 For something that isn't talking to its gateway, there seems to be an awful lot of network traffic traversing this interface. That seems more than a little odd. The other possibility that leaps to mind is that you haven't granted access to the VSWITCH for the Linux guest. If you issue a "dmesg" command, there might be more information there.
