I have a base install of SLES9-SP4 done from the DVDs - SPindent is clean and shows SP4. But why does getconf report a higher level of glibc than the rpm?
(On SLES10-SP1 both getconf and rpm agree on 2.4) ihlscob3:~ # getconf GNU_LIBC_VERSION glibc 2.3.5 ihlscob3:~ # rpm -qi glibc Name : glibc Relocations: (not relocatable) Version : 2.3.3 Vendor: SuSE Linux AG, Nuernberg, Germany Release : 98.94 Build Date: Fri Oct 19 15:46:15 2007 Install date: Fri Jan 4 11:11:10 2008 Build Host: s390z06.suse.de Group : System/Libraries Source RPM: glibc-2.3.3-98.94.src.rpm Size : 6860522 License: BSD 3-Clause; GPL v2 or later; LGPL v2 or later Signature : DSA/SHA1, Fri Oct 19 15:52:28 2007, Key ID a84edae89c800aca Packager : http://www.suse.de/feedback URL : http://www.gnu.org/software/libc/libc.html Summary : The standard shared libraries (from the GNU C Library) Description : The GNU C Library provides the most important standard libraries used by nearly all programs: the stndard C library, the standard math library and the POSIX thread library.
