You don't happen to be the same Scott Rohling from IBM that helped out
at Fort Meade, MD awhile back are you?

Believe you came out to work on a project I was at awhile ago, would
like to reconnect but lost your business card.

I just did about SLES10 SP2 (and perhaps prior) for System z. It
turns out that if you have a properly crafted AutoYaST install file
(autoinst.xml), and your kernel parmfile has all the required
network information, install server information, and pointer to
autoinst.xml, AND you say you want to use VNC, you don't ever
actually have to logon via VNC. The install just runs "in the
background" as it were, without any need to actually connect from
your workstation. All you have to do is wait for the point where
the machine enters a disabled wait (after the first phase is
complete), and then re-IPL from your boot volume. If you have
SECUSER set, and some automation watching for it, it could likely be
done completely hands-off.

Almost scary.
