chkconfig novell-zmd off You can either use YaST Online Update to do maintenance, or use the zypper command in place of rug. Fortunately, zmd is going away with SLE11, leaving only zypper and YOU. Starting with SLES10 SP2, any new installs for System z novell-zmd is disabled by default.
