If you are looking to share filesystems across multiple z/Linux guests,
and have a few $ available, then I would suggest you look at the Mainstar
Provisioning Expert for Linux (PEL). It handles the sharing of the
read-only file systems with ease along with providing a very nice, quick,
easy to use, and supported provisioning process. It includes support for
rolling updates out to multiple guests as well which you will want to do
at some point.

I'm don't sell it - I just use it ;-)

I never guess. It is a capital mistake to theorize before one has data.
Insensibly one begins to twist facts to suit theories, instead of theories
to suit facts.
