Couple it with a bastion guest that provides ssh access to a command line, and there's your console server. Should shut up much whining from Unix admins -- just as discussed here months ago...8-).
I should probably borrow some code from Zebra and make it look just like a Cisco terminal server, which would be good from an automation perspective. I should probably package up an appliance that does this and provides a restricted shell implementation to put users in the appropriate straitjacket. I still like the LAT approach better because it allows assigning consoles to real terminals outside the box, but no point pissing in the wind. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For LINUX-390 subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the message: INFO LINUX-390 or visit http://www.marist.edu/htbin/wlvindex?LINUX-390
