Dear all,

I would like to know if somebody had already encountered a similar problem
with SLES 11 under z/VM.

The configuration is z/VM 5.4 and SLES 11 installed. The VM is used as
installation server. I wanted to make this as a quick stability check of
SLES 11.

The DASD where I put the DVD images is a LV formatted with ext3 spanning
three 3390-25.

In principle everything works fine. So I can use the LV. However when I want
top copy the iso image into the installation server directory with Yast, I
receive a lot of the following error messages in the syslog:

There are also block I/O error messages too.

The install directory is then corrupt and the e2fsck reports errors in the
file system.

To me, it seems that there are problems in case the LV receives a lot of I/O
requests. I have opened a Service Request at Novell but up to now I don't
have any response yet. Does somebody has observed the same problem?

Thanks in advance,

Kind regards,

Florian
