Okay, that seemed to have worked just fine. (Now I have to rediscover "alternatives" to be able to switch between the original ""1.4.2" and the new SDK "1.6.0".)

Similar situation can be with the libXp. You can use "rpm -ivh --nodeps the-sdk.s390x.rpm" and everything should work.
