I'm managed to get RHEL 5.4 installed here with little trouble. Things I
would check for:

1) are the sizes (in bytes0 of the downloaded kernel, parm and initrd
file exactly the same as they are on the RH download page?
2) what is the virtual storage size of the machine where you are trying
to install RH?
