Miguel,

We are still SLES10.
We use a technique similar to the one outline in this URL.
http://www.novell.com/support/php/search.do?cmd=displayKC&docType=kc&externalId=7005155&sliceId=1&docTypeID=DT_TID_1_1&dialogID=143913381&stateId=0%200%20143909538

Even though it mentions Xen. It works for z/VM.
We clone the system.

We modify the hostGUID.

We then register the system.

Hi there,

I'm trying to update 20 SLES10sp2 z390x with SMT 11, but this workloads has been
cloned with zVM tools, and all the workloads report the same UUID, so, when a second
SLES are registered, the first registry disappears and the SMT "thinks that is
the same machine but with different IP and Hostname.

There is a way to chance the UUID on zVM? or how can I workaround this?

Thanks!
