Before you dump the RES-PACK. 1. check the "system config" file on MAINT CF1 and validated CPUID and number of processor(s) of the new machine. You don't need to change it now. However, you may need to change the device address of the Operator's console - you can use the system console. 2. If you're not planning to move your current network to the new machine, then you will need to change the home Address of your tcpip profile and mproute config file. Your Linux guest also need to change their IP Address if they are part of vswitch. If you are running guest lan then you might be safe because you can ask them to keep your guest lan network address.
3. What I thank you should do, is first to create another CP pack and config you new environment on the new pack And tested on 2nd level and then dump it to tape. -----Original Message----- From: Linux on 390 Port [mailto:linux-...@vm.marist.edu] On Behalf Of SrinivasG Sent: Tuesday, December 07, 2010 7:07 AM To: LINUX-390@VM.MARIST.EDU Subject: Z Linux Dump and restore Hi, I am unable to access the archives link at http://www.marist.edu/htbin/wlvindex?linux-390 .
