Hello lists,

There is an updated Virtualization Cookbook, rebranded to "z/VM and Linux
on IBM System z: The Cloud Computing Cookbook for z/VM 6.2, RHEL 6.2 and
SLES 11 SP2" (so as to be buzzword compliant:)), weighing in at 400 pages.
This is not an official IBM (not a Redbook this time), nor Linux
distributor manual. The associated code is not formally supported though
we will support it informally on a best-can-do basis.

For the book, see http://www.vm.ibm.com/devpages/mikemac/CKB-VM62.pdf
For the associated code, see
http://www.vm.ibm.com/devpages/mikemac/CKB-VM62.tgz

There are many changes to this version of the book:
-) The z/VM sections are updated for 6.2 with a two member SSI setup is
described.
-) The Linux sections are updated for both RHEL 6.2 and SLES 11 SP2,
combined in one book rather than two.
-) The NFS-exported files are stored in /var/nfs/ rather than /nfs/ in
keeping with the Linux FHS.
-) Both layer 2 and layer 3 virtual switches are defined and used.
-) VSWITCH authorization is granted through COMMAND statements in the user
directory profile.
-) The section on relabelling z/VM system volumes has been removed.
-) There is a new chapter (17) on Live Guest Relocation (LGR) between SSI
members.
-) There is a new chapter (18) on how to install and configure z/VM?s
DirMaint and SMAPI.
-) There is a new chapter (21) on how to install and configure xCAT (which
requires SMAPI and a Layer 2 VSWITCH).
-) There is a new section (19.4) on how to install and configure sysstat
on Linux.

The SLES 11 SP2 sections are based on RC 1, which will not be the GA
version, and there were a couple of issues. These sections
could/should/will be updated when the code is GA (so let's call this
version 0.98 :))
