Unless I read it wrong, we've had kdump support in SLES since SLES 10 GA :)

So is there a 1.17 version of the RPM available > for SLES 11 SP2? Thanks. To be able to use kdump on SLES11.2, besides of new kexec-tools and s390-tools packages you also would have to use a kernel that contains kdump support. I think also an updated mkinitrd is required for building a functional kdump initrd. So I think doing that all by yourself is very hard or almost impossible. Probably you have to wait until SUSE officially supports kdump.
