Do you know if the test is to see if the path has 'transport mode' yes ?
 In our case, I believe that transport mode showed yes for the dasd paths
--  even though microcode levels weren't sufficient on the HW to support
HPF and created errors on Linux.   So this option doesn't really serve to
disable it if that's what you want to do...    unless z/VM has a better
test that HPF is actually working correctly with CHPIDV ONE  :-)
