Chris, Have you seen the documentation for the WWPN tool? It describes some use cases.
It can be used to transform your z10 configuration into something that can be imported into ec12, but has limitations. MES upgrades let you keep the old IO serial number from the z10. The IO serial number determines the first 41 bits of the NPIV WWPNs. Are you using lun masking on the EMC storage? I believe it is optional for them.
