Did you try cat /proc/cpuinfo ?
Under zVM see processors, serialno and machine type
I don't have any servers using just IFL's to check

Thanks Bruce...  I read descriptions of both Q V CPUs and Q PROC but obviously 
did a "compare and swap" or something such in writing my post.
Thanks for the correction.

So VMCP Q V CPUs would work in a VM environment, but we still have a problem in 
the LPAR environmentt.
