I am having problems booting one of my SLES 11 SP3 linux systems under z/VM 6.2.
I recently applied the latest linux maintenance using smt and yast2. After the apply, I rebooted. The boot does not complete, and I see the following errors in the log: Scanning for LVM volume groups... /sbin/vgscan: relocation error: /sbin/vgscan: symbol dm_build_dm_uuid, version Base not defined in file libdevmapper.so.1.02 with link time reference Activating LVM volume groups... /sbin/vgchange: relocation error: /sbin/vgchange: symbol dm_build_dm_uuid, version Base not defined in file libdevmapper.so.1.02 with link time reference I am not sure if the latest maintenance has anything to do with it or it is just coincidence. I applied the same maintenance on one of my other linux systems without any issues. Any help would be appreciated. Keith Webber PHI Service Co.
