Here's data from the "force disconnect" experiments I did, confirming the
behavior you are seeing. "STIMER" means that the virtual machine was put
to SLEEP and the timer was started. The ones marked with "**" are
suspicious.

Disconnect Status SET System Reconnect Action
Timeout before RUN Action Status Required
---------- -------- ----- -------- ----------- ---------
OFF RUNNING OFF SLEEP CP READ BEGIN
OFF RUNNING ON none RUNNING none
OFF CP READ OFF SLEEP CP READ BEGIN
OFF CP READ ON none CP READ none
OFF VM READ OFF SLEEP VM READ none
OFF VM READ ON SLEEP VM READ none

ON RUNNING OFF STIMER CP READ BEGIN
ON RUNNING ON STIMER RUNNING none
ON CP READ OFF STIMER CP READ BEGIN
ON CP READ ON STIMER RUNNING none
ON VM READ OFF STIMER CP READ BEGIN
ON VM READ ON STIMER VM READ none

With a non-zero disconnect timeout, a lost session always suspends the
guest and starts the timer.
