I really like http://www.eyeos.com/ Many folks in this community know that I won an award as it was used to prove how effective a zVDI solution using none bitmap graphics could be (my final idea in this area was called Desktop on-Demand since DoD sounded right to me for this type of solution running on z).
Fast forward approximately 10 years and we have now entered the era of "killer apps". For applications like RDz, I think running it on a x86 server using eyeOS's virtualization engine (see video on bottom right of there web site) could make for a killer/very efficient way to support applications that work with z using BYOD type interface to the equation. - It removes the profile load part of traditional VDI solutions currently in mainstream use. Although not able to answer your question directly, hopefully this perspective adds a modern twist to the conversation. Sent by: Linux on 390 Port <LINUX-390@VM.MARIST.EDU> Is anyone currently using or know of a virtual desktop infrastructure solution that runs on Linux on z Systems? I've looked at a few options out there, eyeOS, Virtual Bridges, etc. but if they were supported at one time I can't tell if they still are or not. I called one of the vendors to ask this question and the sales team could not come up with an answer for me. Go figure. Any help would be appreciated!
