Cross posted to IBMVM and LINUX-390 Several months ago it was reported that the LXFMT utility didn't support extended address volumes (EAVs). Sine Nomine Associates has now updated LXFMT to support EAVs. As part of adding EAV support a significant overhaul of the code was done which resulted in fixing a number of other bugs uncovered during code inspection/familiarization.
This note is a call for people interested in beta testing the new release of LXFMT. Of course I'm interested in hearing from people that need the EAV support, but due to the significant changes to the code base, also from anyone that replies on LXFMT so we ensure there have been no regressions. I'm especially interested in hearing from people using it on FBA volumes. For those of you not familiar with LFMT, it is a tool that runs on CMS and prepares disks for use by Linux. More details and the current production release can be found here: http://www.sinenomine.net/products/vm/lxfmt Contact me directly if interested in beta testing the new release. In a few weeks, when we're confident the new release is ready for prime time, it will be made available via the above URL.
