I would be more concerned about what type of processor you're going to be 
running on.  SLES10 SP1 has been out of support for 8 years.  It won't run on a 
z13 or z13s.  (Well, it might, but you're going to get data loss/corruption 
problems happening if it does.)

If you actually mean an upgrade as opposed to a new install of SLES12 (I'm 
hoping you mean SLES12 SP1 or SP2 which will be arriving soon), then you're in 
for far more work than is reasonable.  Also keep in mind that SLES12 SP1 and 
later require a z196 or later processor.  If you're running on a z10 or 
earlier, than SLES11 SP4 is the latest version that will run and is supported.
