for not-quite-unrelated reasons, i decided to give the new "free" x86 solaris8 a try. the last time i tried to install x86 solaris (2.6), it would hang trying to install on a bp6, whereas it would proceed normally (if such can be said of a solaris install) on an asus p2bd. this time, the procedure started and appears to be proceeding, but while copying files over there are occasional "apic error interrupt cpu0" (or cpu1). actually, the error looks more like "aappiicc eerrrroorr ..." this happens with both the original bios and bp6_qq.b01. this board and CPUs are otherwise happy, even when using a 92MHz FSB. so i'm wondering if there's something fundamental about the bp6, or if intel really disabled celerons more than we all thought, or what. -- =- To unsubscribe, email [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the -= =- body of "unsubscribe linux-abit". -=
