works fine, with a 2000x2000 image (but I have loads of ram).

Same here. Doing lots of stuff at once takes the load to over 20 very easily
(a couple of make -j's in gimp and gnome sources kills any machine) but the
machine crawls back to life just fine once the work is done.

I bet someone asked already, probably I did too, but did you flash the QQ
bios? That fixed my case.
