Hi all,
I just bought and installed a KA7-100 motherboard, and I'm having trouble
getting the IDE controllers working.
What kernel & patch must I use to get both controllers working? And what
*is* the udma66 controller? I know the dma100 one is an hpt370, but is the
dma66 an hpt366? I thought my hpt366 nightmares were supposed to be over
when I bought this board.
I upgraded to kernel 2.4.0-test2-ac2 and applied Hedrick's patch, but
whenever it tries to initialize the drive as linux boots, it just says:
hde: lost interrupt
hde: lost interrupt
hde: lost interrupt
... etc.
and finally gives up. I've tried enabling the "Use default elevator"
option in the kernel, as well as enabling/disabling "Use DMA by default".
Any hints/clues as to what I must do?
Oh, one last thing... my I/O stutters whenever the hard drives access on
the dma66 controllers. My mouse jumps and my keyboard input delays. Why is
this?
Thanks,
Moshe
