Hi

I have been running stable for a while with the RU BIOS
and kernel 2.4.0-xxx. Then I bought a 20Gb UDMA/66 HD put
it on the hpt366 controller (first time I've ever used it
on this Mobo) and then the trouble began. I get following
error:

hde: timeout waiting for DMA
ide_dmaproc: chipset supported ide_dma_timeout func only: 14

and my system my system crash approx. once per day. Searching
the archives for this list revealed that this is a well known
problem, but I could not find any real solution/conclusion
to the problem.

Before I disable UDMA/66 and moves the HD to the UDMA/33
controller, I have to ask if there is anything I can do to
fix this, e.g. use the noapic option, disable Sharing PCI
IDE interrupts support, use a different mode in the htp366
bios etc.

Thanks,
Lars
