Does it release the IRQ of the controller?  Or is there still a PCI 
slot "enslaved" to the HPT?

Well, the Celeron spec shows 130 as a maximum, and the chip has a
thermal
overload at 90.  The BP6 ships with the temp alarm at 80C.

Nice!  So you're running the normal PCI IDE controllers?  Or your own
adapter?
